What’s the idea?
- To help interested artists develop their teaching skills.
- To expand the pool of Lead Artists available to handle classes at the TIC/JLI Art Studio.
Who is this seminar for?
Individuals with well-developed art skills and experience who are interested in teaching art. Teaching experience is not required.
Participants must agree to the following:
- I understand that this seminar will require me to participate in 6 two-hour seminar sessions between April 1 and December 31, 2017, and also in 6 two-hour workshops during the same period. I understand that participation may require additional preparation time. I can commit that time, subject only to unexpected emergencies.
- I understand that the seminar will be a collaborative endeavor. I am willing to work as a team member, contributing ideas, supporting group decisions and doing all I can to make the seminar and workshops successful for all.
- I understand that only limited spaces are available for this seminar, and that selection will be based on this application, an interview with the seminar leader & sponsors, and their judgment as to what combination of participants will work best together to reach the seminar goal of improving teaching skills for all participants.
- I understand that a bachelor’s degree is required to hold a regular teaching position in a public school. I understand that other paid teaching positions are often part time. And I understand that participation in this seminar does not guarantee that I will get any job.
